Amazon Deadline?

Right now, we are waiting for the typesetting to be done and then we can post the book.

I heard a rumor that Amazon will no longer be accepting unsolicited manuscripts after December 15th. They must be barraged with submissions. Every day the publishing blogs are saying how print publishing is becoming a dinosaur and electronic publishing is the way to go. I’m not sure I agree, but it’s interesting industry buzz.

I can publish on Amazon and other sites where buyers can purchase either the Kindle version or a computer download version. From what I understand, both versions are “typeset” as we are submitting them. To download a book from Amazon onto your computer, you have to download free reader software from them first.

I can offer the book through my website as a .pdf file. I can also offer it as a printed book and contract with a one-off printer to create and mail books as they are ordered and paid for. And I can use PayPal to collect payments.

What a wonderful world.
