A guest editorial by Kinbote, a political analyst from Texas.

I can’t tell you how many 9-months-pregnant women I’ve seen climbing the border fences in Tijuana. Some of them make it. Thankfully, others get picked off by snipers or chewed apart by dogs.

More intrepid still are the women who swim from Havana to Miami as they are actively giving birth to their child. The clock ticks as they paddle and paddle and pray to God that they’ll make it before the baby’s feet do (that’s considered the precise time the baby is officially born, from an immigration standpoint.) The sight of these women crawling onto the beach and holding their baby prizes over their heads, popping champagne bottles to toast their new life in America makes me SICK.

I speak, of course, of the “anchor baby” debate currently taking place in the United States.

An anchor baby is a child born to an illegal immigrant mother who came to the United States with the express purpose of giving birth on good ol’ American soil, so that her baby will be an ipso facto American citizen, and she and her baby can immediately cash in on that GOOSE THAT LAYS THE GOLDEN EGGS known as the American welfare system.

Ever since Barack HUSSEIN Obama was ILLEGALLY elected president, anchor baby benefits have skyrocketed into the stratosphere, adding even more incentive for illegal immigrants to cash in on the United States’ already bloated first-rate DELUXE four star welfare system, which is the envy of the free world.

I don’t think I have to remind you that Barack HUSSEIN Obama himself is HALF MUSLIM, HALF ANCHOR-BABY and 100% COMMUNIST and it is therefore not hard to see his sentimental attachment to porky programs like this.

How much longer are we going to stand by and watch as MILLIONS of illegals squat on the ground just over the border and spawn one of their offspring right there in the dusty Arizona desert, only to be put up in a swank housing project and fed and clothed so that she never has to lift a finger another day of her life?

How long are we going to watch our tax dollars buy baby formula and diapers for BABIES THAT SHOULDN’T EVEN BE IN THE COUNTRY TO BEGIN WITH?

How long are hardworking American citizens going to foot the bill for the mother’s PEDICURES, CABLE TELEVISION and SALTY SNACKS only to see her drop a few more little MEAL TICKETS at various American emergency rooms WHICH WE’LL ALL HAVE TO PAY FOR?

How many more bags of Doritos is the government going to pay for ONLY TO SEE THEM CRAMMED INTO THE GULLET OF A RAPIDLY-GROWING MEXICAN TODDLER so that he can go on to FURTHER BURDEN THE AMERICAN EDUCATION SYSTEM by demanding BI-LINGUAL EDUCATION?

Why should my tax dollars go to support a big fat baby WHO I DON’T EVEN KNOW AND PROBABLY WILL NEVER EVEN SPEAK MY LANGUAGE?

How heavy does the little porker need to get before he’s TOO BIG TO SEND BACK TO HIS OWN COUNTRY?

and yes, I get the hyperbole, but still….

    @ Alinde

Wow! You’re really going to compare a pastiche making light of the vivid imaginations Republicans allow to run wild when considering issues of immigration with an RNC gag calling Barack Obama a “magic negro” to make light of his supporters?

You’re a credit to racists everywhere!

Who knew that calling out Republican senators’ absurd racist fantasies about women hopping the border at the last second to birth their babies in the states in order to gain citizenship could be so very offensive!

If only we all had the stomach for the kind of earnest wagging-your-finger-and-looking-down-your-nose tactics that you and your ilk employ, we might finally be able to rid the world of racism FOREVER!

Because why laugh at the insanely ridiculous imagery so often conjured up by Republicans and entertained as being anything other than the hilarious paranoid fantasies they are when you can look them straight in the face, put your hands on your hips, stomp your hoof in the dust and scream “YOU ARE WRONG!”

I know you’d prefer the comedic stylings of Erma Bombeck, but she’s dead, and we’re all just going to have to accept that.

I think it’s probably very difficult for many, if not most, people living in this part of the world, Mexican citizens and foreigners alike, to get a real feel for just how volatile and violent political rhetoric has become in the United States.

I am not an alarmist. Nor am I someone who perceives conspiracies and subversion everywhere.

In my memory, the last time American political rhetoric was so volatile, so charged with explicitly violent intent, was between John F. Kennedy’s election in 1960 and his assassination in November, 1963.

During those years, a large populist contingent, very similar to today’s, relentlessly indulged a rhetoric of hysteria, paranoia, and vilification, whose explicit aim was to incite political violence, or at least create a social environment in which political violence was inevitable.

For those too young to remember that era, you should know that, as a matter of public record, there were a great many people who believed, and publicly argued, for example, that communist China was secretly massing thousands of troops in Mexico at the U.S. border in preparation for a communist take-over of the United States.

There were also a great many people who believed, and publicly argued, that President Kennedy was himself a communist or, at best, a hard-line socialist, and they promoted the Bay of Pigs fiasco as proof that President Kennedy planned to eventually hand over the US government to a dictatorship of the proletariat.

The present rhetorical excess was a long train coming.

In 2002, the steaming pile of rotting slimy worm-ridden garbage wrapped in human skin otherwise known as Pat Buchanan published “The Death of the West: How Dying Populations and Immigrant Invasions Imperil Our Country and Civilization,” in which he argued, again and again and again, that Mexican immigrants were responsible for America’s “moral downfall.”

Mind you, Buchanan suffered no “blow back” for his book. He remains a commonplace of mainstream political talk-shows. His views and opinions are considered well within the bounds of normative political discourse.

Kinbote’s burlesque of current right-wing rhetoric is a tame little wisp of feathery whimsy when compared to the actual hard-core filth promoted 24/7 throughout the Internet and mainstream media by a tireless and very well-funded right-wing insurgency.

Their aim is nothing less than to encourage physical violence against immigrants, Mexicans in particular, and to incite the sort of social climate that will culminate, inevitably, in the assassination, or attempted assassination, of President Obama.

Hugo of Orange, We salute you.

There are no statesmen today. But there are plenty of rabid politicians inciting hate and fear for their own selfish gain, without thinking of: 1) reality; 2) the good of their country; 3) any semblance of honesty.

  5. suk says:

I voted for Obama bc bush is just so stupid president if you watch movie about him. I am paying almost 30% tax out of my pay check. Y can’t not just attack Mexican, black & white all using manipulated system but also there is the reason if you don’t help theses peoples, your ass not safe in Texas bc we will going to have killing peoples, no more safe place live so if any smart republican take over our president duty I will be happy to support it. If y point one finger to others y got three fingers point at u.

    Christofer -
I am a huge fan of Hugo’s. Not sure how anyone can be that smart and write so well without being famous. Who knows, maybe he is famous. And Kinbote is fabulous as well. Even if he is a bit rough on my friend Alinde.
