Monique, of Monique’s Slow Food Bakery, is enthusiastic about a film-maker who has come to town and is giving classes. She says that Billy Arellano, a graduate of the London International Film School, has the latest digital equipment and software, so it’s a hands-on as well as a creative course.

Digital Film Workshop
The Workshop consists of learning the basics to be able to produce a quality digital film.
Pre- Production: Subjects such as mise-en-scene, camera angles and distances, visual language, characters and scripting are dicussed. Color, Form, Sound, Props, Composition,etc are discussed in detail.
Full, hands on practicals are instructed with a Panasonic P2 full HD camera and professional boom and microfones.
Production: Breakdown, Location, continuity, shooting order, make-up, wardrobe, special and in-camera effects are boarded. Also individual roles within the film crew are mapped out., such as Director, Producer, Cameraman, Editor,etc.
Post-Production: Different editing theories are discussed. Practicals on image and sound editing are given on Final Cut Pro. Some special effects, such as transitions and color variations are treated too. Sound effects and music in film are explored.
At the end of the course, every student will make a 1 minute short film and the whole group will make a longer film together.
The cost is 300 pesos to sign up and 550 pesos per month.
