    Just finished the 2012 book; loved it too!

    Beryl, in another post you asked for volunteers to help you setting up chicken coops in a Mayan village. That’s something I’d like to do. I hope to be in Merida the 2nd and 3rd weeks of December and, hopefully, again later in the winter.

    Just finished Madrugada on Kindle and enjoyed the read. I thought there was an interesting mix of characters and wondered if some might have been inspired by actual Merida residents.

      Yes, most of them are actual expats who lived in Merida in the 90s. Most of the names are real too. Jose Bosch ended up opening a gay steam bath called the Blue Banana, still there today. Tom Parks died about 10 years ago. he was a great guy. Bill was very real as was William, the guy in the Caribe. Etc.
