Are there 2,000 of us here in Merida? Or is it 3,000? 5,000? The number varies according to who you talk to. But we are a fast-growing increasingly diversified community of people from all over the world. Most are from the USA and Canada, but we also have Koreans, Chinese, Europeans, South and Central Americans, and Russians. The only thing we all have in common is that we aren’t originally from Mexico. We are foreigners. Some of us struggle with visas, some gain Mexican citizenship and happily renounce the gringo culture. Whatever your choice, here we are. This section is about life in Yucatan from my personal point of view.
There is a variety of articles in this section. All of them have room for comments and the exchanges on some of them have been quite lively.
